Dear Father Mel, Paul and Kathy
I wish you a Happy New Year filled with all the blessings of the Lord. I pray that the Lord will bless you with Good Health during 2006
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
We had a Joy-filled Christmas and now we are back to work with the patients.
We had not sent you the financial report of the donations we have received from you in 2004 and 2005. Before the death of Fr. Cathal I had given him a report of all the money we have received and spent. I was waiting to send you the report at the end of the year, when we close for Christmas. All the money we have received from your Mission Circle is used for the needs of the sick, namely people living with HIV/AIDS. Even though we started to work in this place in 2004 since we did not have financial support from any one so we could not do much. Since your Mission Circle began to support us by September 2004 we have expanded our work. With the permission from FR. Cathal we used Pula 14000 (about $2600USD) from your donations to buy a VAN to transport the patients from the village to our center.
I am sending the financial report as an attachment., the password for opening the report is AGNES . If you have any problem of opening the report please let me know. This is a very simple report I am sending to you, if you have any doubt let me know. I will be away in South Africa from the 11th to the 19th attending a workshop.
As we are starting the new year I thank each of you and your Mission Circle for supporting us. Without your support we can do nothing.
We pray for God's special blessings upon you and your work every moment of 2006.
with love and prayers,

Sr. Nalini of the Sisters of Charity corresponded with us regarding the passing of Father Butler with this testament: "I had the privilege of working with Fr. Brendan in Jwaneng. I have never seen such a great missionary as Father. When I came to Botswana in 2000 Father really helped me to know the country and the culture. I was so much afraid to work with those with HIV/AIDS and Father inspired me to work with the sick. As a result, now I am full time working with the sick. It is Father who introduced me to your Mission Circle. The passing away of Father is a great loss for us in Botswana. In case you want to know any thing more about Fr. Brendan's life or ministry in Botswana please let me know."
